So if you’re in the mood for some holiday festivities, head on down to Brenham and don’t miss these programs that are organized for the whole family!

Holiday Home Tour and Trunk Show

Visit the Giddings Stone Mansion and tour the elegantly decorated home that will make you wish you live there. Built by Jabez Deming Giddings, a young attorney from Pennsylvania, the Mansion is a beautiful 1869 home with fine Greek Renaissance architecture that is a rare jewel in the whole of Texas. Step back in time as you gaze at its 12-foot ceilings and mahogany staircase, evidence of the opulent lifestyle of yesteryear.

You will be welcomed by Heritage Belles, Southern women dressed in the late-1800s attire to complement the blast-in-the-past setting. Wrap up your Christmas list at the Trunk Show, which will be hosting more than 30 dealers selling unique wares, home decorations, clothes and accessories for little angels, estate jewelry, English and French linens, and Christmas treats! You’re sure to find something for everyone and for yourself!

Christmas Stroll & Lighted Parade

Who says Christmas lasts only a day? Brenham knows how to kick off the season with a bang on its Christmas Stroll and Lighted Parade, a two-day activity-filled event for the young and old.

Starting with the lighting of the Courthouse Square Christmas tree, the celebration continues with the Downtown Parade of Lights. Watch the bright and colorful parade as it snakes through the busy streets of Downtown Brenham. Children will be delighted with Santa Claus’s dramatic arrival on a fire truck. To top off the Christmas tradition, stroll down the shops lit up with Christmas decors and have a cup of warm cider and cookies. Shoppers will love the tasty treats and handmade crafts at the Farmer’s Market.

As an all-day event for tireless shoppers, the Scavenger Hunt game will give them a walking exercise and a fun activity to do while browsing in the shops. A game questions sheet will be handed to the participants and they have to answer these questions at all the venues downtown.
