Cape Cod is a classic vacation destination. The peninsula off the southeastern coast of Massachusetts consists of 15 towns. Several things will be helpful to know for first time visitors to this charming area.
1. When to Visit
While Cape Cod is lovely year-round, some times are better to visit than others. The main summer months are popular but very crowded. The most optimum times to visit to enjoy fewer crowds and still enjoy pleasant temperatures are during the months of April, May, October, and November.

Cape Cod’s beaches are consistently ranked among the best in the world. You really cannot go wrong, but you are sure to find an array of the best along Cape Cod National Seashore. All of the public bathing beach waters are tested to ensure water quality, so choose at your leisure.

5. Outdoor Activities
There is no shortage of ways to enjoy the outdoors at Cape Cod. In addition to boating, kayaking, and swimming, there are lots of trails for hiking, biking, rollerblading, and horseback riding. One of the most popular is the Cape Cod Rail Trail. It is a 22-mile long paved trail that offers gorgeous views.
